Being near Silicon Valley, General Foundry Service is accustom to working in the semi-conductor industry. Although castings are inherently porous, no matter the process, there is ample opportunity outside the chamber. Over the decades, we have helped customers convert ‘hog outs’ to castings with secondary machining usually resulting in a 40-60% cost reduction while increasing quality and performance. These components can be small or some of the largest we make, offering high structural integrity, freedom of design and reduced costs. Some components we have made, but not limited to, are as follows: stage bases, main optics plates, scanning components, carriages, robotic arms or links, forks, flange frames, hoists torsos, lids, stiffening cover, adapter housings, supports, chassis components, joints, and wrists. Due to confidentiality, we cannot share photos.
